Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator will manage program delivery and volunteer coordination for the organization. This role will work closely with the Director of Operations to make sure Today is a Good Day programs are delivered successfully to hospital partners, coordinate with volunteers to support those efforts, and help manage office administration. The Program Coordinator will also help to manage the online community of support for NICU families to connect. This role will help to advance the mission of Today is a Good Day (TIAGD): to provide hope and build community through personal and financial support for families who experience the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

PROGRAMMING

  • Communicate with hospital and organizational partners to coordinate and distribute TIAGD items included in the partnership agreement (for example: care packages, milestone shirts, resource cards, posters, transportation passes, etc.) and assist NICU Family Advocates as needed.
  • Coordinate all program details with assigned hospital and organization partners, including but not limited to Navigate the NICU sessions, vital need support, lunch & learns, bi-annual meetings.
  • Schedule and organize support groups and communicate with members to notify participants of upcoming events.
  • Coordinate, manage, and track volunteers to prepare items in the TIAGD office for hospital partners, mailings, events, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Keep detailed records of inventory and order items to restock from warehouse and printer.
  • Manage and engage with TIAGD online communities.
  • Host Today is a Good Day programs as needed.
TEAM BUILDING & OUTREACH
  • Prep for corporate team building events.
  • Record team building survey feedback.
  • Attend corporate team building events as needed.
  • Coordinate and/or staff volunteers for tabling events.
OFFICE & ADMINISTRATION MANAGEMENT
  • Ensure all office supplies are fully stocked
Performs other duties as requested by manager

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work across different departments
  • Experience working with or strong desire to support a charitable organization
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
 
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree preferred
 
EXPERIENCE: Experience working with volunteers in a nonprofit setting and personal experience in NICU preferred.
             
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES/REGISTRATIONS: Must have a valid driver's license and access to vehicle.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.  Ability to write information and respond to questions from groups.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:  Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
How much noise is typical for the work environment of the job? Moderate noise level
SCHEDULE/HOURS: 25 hours per week and must be available nights and weekends as needed for programs and events.
