About Us
The Mission of Today is a Good Day is to provide hope and build community through personal and financial support for families who experience the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Today is a Good Day was founded by Martha & Paul Sharkey following the arrival of their identical twin girls at just 23 weeks and 5 days. Claire weighed 1lb 2oz and Mary weighed 1lb 4oz. Mary earned her wings after only 2 weeks. Claire beat the odds and came home after 103 days in the NICU. The Sharkey’s recognized a gap in care for families navigating the NICU and founded Today is a Good Day to help fill that gap with additional supports for families.
