Madeleine Dean was born and raised in Glenside, Pennsylvania. She graduated from La Salle University and earned her law degree at Widener University. For nearly ten years, she was a professor of writing at LaSalle University. Congresswoman Dean then served as a State Representative for six-and-a-half years before being elected to Congress in 2018 to represent Pennsylvania’s Fourth District, Berks and Montgomery Counties.
Now in her third term, Congresswoman Dean serves on the House Judiciary and House Foreign Affairs Committees, as well as the Regional Leadership Council where she works directly with the White House to implement legislation like the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. In Congress, Madeleine remains focused on decency and the common good — that means addressing issues that affect Americans deeply, including gun violence, education and college affordability, and women’s issues.
